Motorists advised to plan alternate routes during full weekend closure announced by General Traffic Department.

The Arabian Gulf Road will be completely closed this weekend to allow for scheduled roadworks, the General Traffic Department announced on Tuesday.

According to the advisory, the closure will stretch from the Second Ring Road intersection to the Kuwait Society of Engineers (KSE) intersection. The road will be shut starting Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 6:00 pm, and will reopen on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at 6:00 am.

Authorities have urged motorists to plan their journeys and use alternative routes during the closure period to avoid congestion and delays. Traffic police and road signage will be deployed in the area to guide drivers and ensure safety throughout the duration of the works.

The General Traffic Department also reminded road users to adhere to traffic instructions and exercise caution near construction zones, as the temporary closure is part of ongoing efforts to improve road infrastructure and traffic flow.

Drivers are advised to stay updated through official channels for any changes or additional announcements related to traffic movements over the weekend.
