Kuwait Beat Mauritania by 2-0 in the Qualifiers for the FIFA Arab Cup 2025

Kuwait secured their place in the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 after a dominant 2–0 win over the Mauritanian national football team in Doha. The match, held at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium, saw Kuwait capitalizing early through a header by Mohammed Daham in the 8th minute, exploiting a defensive lapse by the Mauritanian side.

Just 16 minutes later, Mauritania’s Nouh Mohamed inadvertently turned a cross into his own net — doubling Kuwait’s lead and effectively putting the game out of Mauritania’s reach.

Mauritania pressed for a comeback in the second half and even saw a goal by Mokhtar El Hacen in the 56th minute — but it was ruled out after a VAR offside decision. That decision preserved Kuwait’s clean sheet and their 2-0 advantage until the final whistle.

With this result, Kuwait advances to the group stage of the tournament, where they will face the Egyptian national football team, the Jordanian national football team and the United Arab Emirates national football team in Group C. The win not only confirms their return to the Arab Cup, but also underscores a strong, disciplined performance from start to finish.
