After several debates, Lebanon has decided to allow the screening of ‘Barbie’ movie in local cinemas after it was censored in the country by the authorities without detailed justification.

According to the Lebanese General Security Directorate, it is expected to greenlight the film for viewing in local cinemas in the next few days based on the censorship department's recommendation, several media outlets in Lebanon reported.

Lebanon's culture minister Mohammad Mortada had previously issued a decision to ban the film from cinemas, saying it "promotes homosexuality" which contradicts with the religious values.
