TikTok Launches New Time & Well-Being Space to Support Healthier Digital Habits
New hub expands TikTok’s wellness tools with breathing exercises, intention prompts, soothing sounds, and teen-focused safety features.
TikTok has unveiled its new Time and Well-being space, an expanded digital wellness hub aimed at helping users unwind, reset, and build healthier online habits. The launch marks the platform’s latest effort to encourage mindful digital use — particularly among teenagers, one of its largest user groups.
The new hub builds on TikTok’s existing safety and wellness ecosystem. Teen accounts already come with more than 50 automatic safety, privacy and security settings, ensuring a safer environment for creativity, connection, and learning. Earlier this year, TikTok also rolled out a night-time meditation feature for teens, switched on by default to promote healthier evening routines.
TikTok expands digital well-being tools
The revamped Time and Well-being space introduces multiple interactive features, including mindful breathing sessions, daily intention prompts, and calming sound experiences designed to help users decompress.
A standout addition is the Affirmational Journal, where users can set their daily intentions and choose from more than 120 customizable affirmation cards to download or share.
Another key tool, the Soothing Sound Generator, includes a library of relaxing audio — from rainfall to ocean waves and white noise — to help users relax, reset, or focus.
TikTok has also added guided Breathing Exercises to support calmness and improve both mental and physical well-being.
To help users get the most out of these tools, TikTok has partnered with well-known creators to demonstrate wellness practices and highlight existing safety features such as screen time limits, personalized content settings, and Family Pairing.
New Well-being Missions inspire healthier habits
A new initiative, Well-being Missions, encourages users to build lasting healthy habits through daily micro-actions. Missions include:
-
Sleep Hours Mission: rewards users for staying off TikTok at night or meditating during sleep hours
-
Screen Time Mission: challenges users to set and stick to daily screen time limits
Users can earn badges and grow a virtual “Well-being tree” as they progress.
TikTok said the new hub was shaped by academic insights showing that overly restrictive digital rules can backfire. Input from the platform’s Youth Council also guided the development of more engaging, empowering features.
Early testing revealed strong adoption, with users returning to the new Time and Well-being space significantly more often than previous digital wellness settings. The Affirmational Journal has emerged as the leading feature so far.
