A key value of corporate culture was once the ability to hire and keep people.Hiring and retention of employees used to be a major attraction for corporate culture. Businesses spend a lot of money on mission statements, office amenities and team building events that foster a sense of belonging. But many workers today are losing appreciation for culture-based messaging. Rather they are focusing on wages, flexibility, career development, and respect. Employees are changing their priorities as job expectations shift, which means many of the traditional corporate culture initiatives are less effective than they've been in the past.
