The Ministry of Public Works, in collaboration with the General Traffic Department, has initiated a temporary partial closure of the Fifth Ring Road opposite the Al-Salam area, specifically in the direction of Salmiya. The closure is part of ongoing efforts to complete asphalt paving and road network development works in the region.

Closure Details

To ensure minimal disruption for motorists, three lanes on the left side of the road will be closed during the construction period. Meanwhile, three other lanes heading towards King Fahd Bin Abdulaziz Road (Route 40) will remain open to maintain smooth traffic flow and reduce inconvenience for drivers.

Timeline and Impact

The partial closure will commence at dawn on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, and is expected to continue until May 17, 2026. Motorists are advised to plan their routes accordingly and allow for extra travel time during this period.

Commitment to Infrastructure Development

The Ministry of Public Works emphasized that this temporary closure is a necessary step to enhance road infrastructure and improve overall traffic conditions in the area. The project aligns with broader efforts to ensure safe, efficient, and well-maintained road networks across Kuwait.
