NASA is developing a new strategy for its Mars exploration that may fly three small helicopters on the Red Planet. The SkyFall mission is now planned to ride on the Space Reactor-1 Freedom spacecraft, which is a nuclear-reactor-based ship, in late 2028. This aircraft will be equipped with scientific instruments, with a mission to determine if there is any ice beneath the surface and to map out potential regions to search in the future, as opposed to Ingenuity.
