Kuwait City has ranked in top position as the least expensive city to live in, according to a study published by Workyard Research.

The study analyzed 20 selected cities around the world on the earning potential and the cost of living for residents in those cities.

The data shows where individuals can secure substantial earnings without a commensurate expenditure on living costs.

The US-based workforce management solutions provider found that residents in Kuwait had an average per capita income of KD1,900 ($6,199), and the cost of living in the city amounted to just KD232 ($752.70).

This solidifies Kuwait as the foremost city globally for offering residents a highly favorable and budget-friendly environment.

Here is a list of the top five budget-friendly cities:

1. Kuwait City
2. Abu Dhabi
3. Riyadh
4. Dubai
5. Sharjah

On the contrary, New York City ranked as the most expensive city worldwide. Despite increases in wages, the high living expenses make it challenging for people to reside there.

In NYC, individuals earn an average of $4,205, and they would need approximately $1,448 monthly for sustenance.
