Expat Licence Printing Now Costs KD 10 in Kuwait

Expatriates in Kuwait will now be required to pay a KD 10 fee to print their driving licences. The fee was introduced through Ministerial Decision No. 560/2025, issued by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al Sabah.
The decision was published in the official gazette Kuwait Al Youm and takes effect immediately.

Update to Traffic Law Regulations
The KD 10 charge was added as Clause No. 59 to Article 204-bis of the executive regulations under Ministerial Resolution No. 81/1976. The Ministry of Interior’s Undersecretary has been tasked with overseeing and implementing this change.
Balanced Enforcement of Traffic Laws
During the launch of the 38th Unified Gulf Traffic Week, Lieutenant General Sheikh Salem Al Nawaf, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, highlighted that the General Traffic Department (GTD) is committed to fair and humane enforcement of traffic rules.
He explained that while serious violations, especially those causing fatalities, will face the toughest penalties, there are reconciliation measures in place for minor infractions.
Focus on Road Safety and Awareness
The new traffic law, which takes effect on April 22, aims to improve road safety and reduce accidents. It introduces stricter measures for violators while encouraging safer driving practices.
